  2. I do this all the time...

There is no easy way of doing it... I usually extract menus that require modification as full frame AVI. Then I use Paint Shop Pro to create a mask to cover up part of the picture (e.g., unwanted option) or to add options (e.g., additonal numbers).

Then I use Adobe Premiere to put it all together...

    Regards.

  4. The menus on a DVD are in VTS_??_0.VOB and usually are all in VTS_01_0.VOB.

When you decrypt your DVD, make sure you use DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper to rip this vob file as well.

Then, use either FlaskMPEG or DVD2AVI to decrypt this vob file to uncompressed AVI (or use some sort of lossless compression like HuffyUV).

Then, if I need to get a still from the AVI, I use VirtualDub to copy a frame to a image editor (e.g., Paint Shop Pro).

Now, say I want to mask off a button. Then, on the image editing proggy, I use clone brush (or airbrush) to remove the button from the image. Then, I select the part I want to keep. Inverse the selection and delete the rest of the image. Make sure you don't have feathering or anti-alias

Then I use a colour no in the picture (e.g., red or green or blue) and flood fill the deleted part. Save the image as a bitmap.

Load the bitmap and AVI in Premiere. Put the AVI as "video 1a" and the bitmap as "video 2".

Change the transparency of the bitmap to "chroma" and select the colour.

    Save as AVI or MPEG.
