    I've got a home-made (i.e. no DRM to worry about) DVD that I want to cut a 30-sec clip from. I want to maintain the highest-possible quality and I'd rather do it with software I can get for free 'cuz this is just a 1- or 2-time thing for me. Do you guys have any recommendations?

    P.S. Thanks to everybody who contributes to these forums! They've been a great resource for me for years now.
