After a prety reliable year or so (and over 200 hours) of trouble free recording of both freeview and old VHS my machine just died!
No power whatsoever ! Did a static charge wipe out the proceser?
I admit that a week earlier I had hacked a region 1 code into ths region 2 R100A but the death came to light after I had preesd the" ON" switch after a few days left in the "OFF" position. The fuse was dead, but when replaced with a working one there was still no effect. Iwill add that I had attempted to install an update (downloaded from a link to MUSTEK on this site)via a CD-R. This appered to have no affect, but thats all I can add.

Likely because there isn't much to be said. If a unit won't power on, there isn't anything that the average consomer can do themselves. It is time for a repair shop (if it is under warranty), otherwise, replacement is the cheapest option.

As to what caused the failure, there is no way for anyone to know aside from a certified technician after opening the unit and troubleshooting. All you and we can do is speculate and that won't fix anything.Google is your Friend
