I bought an open-box LG LRH-880 that was missing the remote. I can't order one without knowing the model number (or part number) of the remote. Can anybody tell me what the right number is ? Thanks.

Thanks, but I've been there, but that thread's all about the 780 and 790 - not the 880

  5. He's refering to codes for a universal, not relevant.

You should be able to operate the recorder with a One For All 8910 universal remote. I haven't found anything the remote won't operate. It would probably need to be telephone upgraded, a simple process. If you want to make sure they have a code for that recorder, call 330-405-8616 and tell them you are wanting to buy an 8910 but want to make sure the remote will operate the recorder. Have them e-mail advanced functions when you call, they will cover virtually all functions of the original remote.

It's quite possible that a 780 remote will operate an 880, you can't count on that though.

Well, I took the advice here and ordered model 6711R1N205B (meant for the 780). They told me it wasn't available and got in the 6711R1N205A (note "A" at the end) the very next day. $22.60 with tax. It seems to do all the basic things that I want for my 880 (timeshift, and timed recordings). Thanks for the help and info. You guys are great.
