I'd like to take a photo and enlarge (resize) it to several feet width and height. I want to print out 8 ½" x 11" sections and mount them. How can I do this with ease & precision? I'm told no chance on creativecow, so I thought I'd ask videohelp (always getting good advice here). Has no one tried this ghetto technique of blowing an image up wall-size and slicing it into standard 8 ½" x 11" printable pieces that can be joined on a wall? I wish some coder would make a photoshop plugin for this purpose. Thank you!

Try a Google search for ' mosaic poster program ' and you should find a few programs that can do what you want. Someone may have a PhotoShop plugin, but I haven't seen it.

http://www.ezmosaic.com has a shareware one you can use for 20 days before purchase.

There must be some real dumbasses on creativecow then. I'm surprised.

You could do this in Photoshop, no plug-in required.
 - Drop your image in PS, enlarge to the size you want, in 8½x11 increments.
 - Drag in guides at the correct 8½x11 marks.
 - Copy those sections one by one to new images.
 - Save and print each slice.
 - Mount and enjoy.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I've been too often let down by creativecow, it seems. However, Smart Scale and Genuine Fractals were suggested for the resize (seems like they would help): http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/203/871263Originally Posted by lordsmurf

Dude. Sick. This has to be easiest way. Looks like a quality result, as well. How did you find it? (I should still learn learn use of guides.) Thanks Cornucopia!Originally Posted by Cornucopia

That's a specialized image enlargement software with original spline interpolation type (along with standard Lanczos, etc.) with adjustable parameters. Supports PhotoShop CS2 (installs plugins if desired).
