I am having issues running CDRDAO. I get errors using both TSCV and XDuplicator GUIs with it. Here are the logs from both programs:

    In TSCV:

    Starting CDRDAO Burning process...

WARNING: Environment variable 'HOME' not defined - cannot read .cdrdao.
    Cdrdao version 1.1.5 - (C) Andreas Mueller <andreas@daneb.de>
SCSI interface library - (C) Joerg Schilling
    L-EC encoding library - (C) Heiko Eissfeldt
Paranoia DAE library - (C) Monty

Check http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables.

    Using libscg version 'schily-0.5'

    1,1,0: MITSUMI CR-48X8TE Rev: 1.1B
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC (raw writing) - Version 2.0 (options 0x0000)

Starting write simulation at speed 16...
Pausing 10 seconds - hit CTRL-C to abort.
Process can be aborted with QUIT signal (usually CTRL-\).
    Turning BURN-Proof on
    Using 16 byte P-Q sub-channel data mode.
    Writing lead-in and gap...

After this last line appears, I get a pop-up error box that reads:

    ERROR: ist kein gultiger Integerwert

The status bar then jumps to 4% completed and stays there. If I try to actually write rather than just simulate, my burner will remain as though writing and my computer will lock up until I am forced to power down.

Here's the error I get in XDuplicator:

The CD burner is new, but on my old one, I was getting the same error in TSCV. I wasn't trying to run XDuplicator then, because I was using Windows 98 and whenever I tried to detect my devices using XDuplicator in Win98, I would get a blue screen of death and then all sorts of problems that would eventually culminate with me having to rebuild my entire computer from scratch would crop up. Now I'm using Windows2000, but I'm still having issues.

Anyone know what any of this means?

  2. This may be a longshot, but it might help, do you know if you are using the latest ASPI Layer ? I know that it does not come with nither 9x or 2k and it requires a sepereate install, it does usually come with Adaptec's prducts (EZCD) but you can also get it as a seperate install.

Both DVD and CDRW drives require you have the latest ASPI Layer installed in order to work properly.

  3. A friend has the same problem. He's running WinME an uses nero for burning. Now he wants to swith to cdrdao. I also think it might be a problem with the aspi layer. I ran forceaspi 1.7 to install a working aspi layer, but problem is still the same. Getting the CD Info via cdrdao works, only writing causes this error. CD-RW drive is a LG CED-8080B and he uses 'generic-mmc' driver. I have exactly the same hardware and cdrdao works fine (nero, too). It would be very helpful is someone can tell whether the
I/O error. : scsi sendcmd: retryable error
really indicates a problem with the aspi layer. Then I could try out different programs which install a aspi layer (without influencing the nero installation; as far as I know, nero uses a proprietary aspi interface). Any ideas?

  4. I have the same problem exactly - thought it was cause i had an old cdrw (Ricoh mp6200a).
Have you tried to go to http://cdrdao.sourceforge.net/drives.html#dt for current driver tables - cause it seems these driver tables should be installed first.
Tell me if it worked (i haven't got the chance to try it out right now)

  6. Shame on me. As my friend bought the same computer (HP) one week after me, I was shure he has the same burner. After checking his log file again, i noticed that the burner is called IDE-CD R/RW 8x4x32. Calling cdrdao via TSCV now showed a new error message (after changing driver from generic-mmc to gernic-mmc-raw) 'Is not a valid integer'. Ttool added a new flag to TSCV which solved this problem (I think it's called 'raw mode'). Now everything works fine.

  7. well i am still having problems.
Tried cdrwin and i get a cd which i cannot use on my computer and which is not recognized by my dvd standalone as an svcd - although it does find 2 tracks??!
Tried fireburner and Xduplicator but i keep getting a write parameter error.
    Help anybody?
