I just built this thing to create, period.
Now capping HDV with HDV Split but the preview can't even keep up with the 1/64th setting. It says my box is too slow (!)
DV capping is is fine which is weird.
    Capping to empty HDD
    Bios is maxed out
What else is there to do to get this ap smooth?

    yep
there's also a huge thread at www.sonyhdvinfo.com where he released it
I may missing the Sony driver as it's not in the device manager specifically as Sony
This is probably the link that's now dead
He claims it runs smoothly with dual core 3800 up.

if some guys are having trubble with smooth preview with quadcores, I guess I'm ok
whenever you build a new box, you expect everything to run like the wind on it
I can cap with all aps so far but I really liked the preview and device control which some don't even have

I noticed CapDVHS can convert directly to mpeg which is cool...

I'm kickin back with device control and previewing 5 hours of performance video in HDV on my new build...sweet

I shot this guy playing guitar about 100 feet away and I can actually make out the name on his guitar
    unbelievable...
