  1. Okay so I've done this process like 1000 times successfully, but now all of a sudden when I rip a dvd and use gordian knot which uses VirtualDub to encode it, I get the weirdest problem. The encoding will be going along perfectly, like normal, and then comes the time to import the AC3 file, and it just freezes halfway through importing the AC3 file.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, nothing. Has anybody come across this before?

    Thanks

  2. Okay, I did a little research and found out it was the AC3 file itself, because other ones would import. Now the question is, how can an AC3 file from a mainstream DVD be damaged in a way that it wont import? Did I rip it wrong somehow?

    Thanks

Or maybe your AC3 decoder is damaged? Will other DVDs with AC3 work? VirtualDub Mod, which I use, needs the AC3 ACM Decompressor to decode AC3 from the VOBs. I'm not sure of the GK process.

Or the AC3 file may not be damaged, just somehow out of spec. You might try AC3fix GUI.
