  1. I'm having trouble with the program freezing about halfway thru the encoding. I'm using separate video and audio files, the audio being a .wav file. What might I do so solve this problem? TIA, Schnizz

  4. Hi!
    A few questions .......

Does it freeze around 50% in ALL encodes, ie. of any length?
Does it freeze when you just encode the video?
Have you got enough room on both the final destination drive AND any temp drive that's set? (check encoder's options)

    Let me know .........

  5. Yes, it usually freezes around 50% on ANY encode. I have more than enough room on my destination drive, 38 gig so that's not a problem. It was working find until I had to reinstall windows and now for some reason I'm having trouble with AVI files. I've downloaded all the codec but am still having trouble. Any suggestions? Schnizz

  6. Hi again!

So what version of Windoze r u running then?
and why did you have to re-install??

The reason I ask is that the Panasonic MPEG1 encoder is getting on a bit now and all updates/patches stopped some time ago.
Therefore, if you've got anything more than Win98se you could be in for trouble.
Like you say though, 'it was working fine' ...... those types of problem are very frustrating aren't they??!!!?

Can you think of anything you did upon reinstall that may have upset the encoding process? Virtual memory settings?

Ah, one more thing ........ is it just AVI files that cause the lock up?
If so, can you watch the AVI in WinMedia Player properly?

Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this sooner or later!

    Speak soon ....... Sue xxx

  7. Sue: Unforturnatly I'm running windows ME. The reason for the reinstall was driver problems and a blue screen of death caused by installing EZCD creator 5. I was told if I reinstall my windows drivers it would eliminate with driver problems. WRONG. All it did was mess up my encoding software. I had to reininstall windows media player 7.1 etc and now Panasonic is only encoding about 1/2 the movie. Im using a separate wav file for the audio portion which previously solved my sync problems but now I can't get the movies encoded. But I also added a new hard drive and am having a slight problem with it also. There is 1 file that when I try to access thru my computer or explorer it crashes the computer so I'm not sure. Still trying, Schnizz
