Is there a way to rip just a part of a vob file.I want to edit parts of some dvds i have so i don't want to rip whole dvds.

dvd shrink in reauthoring mode, https://www.videohelp.com/guides/how-to-make-a-mixed-dvd-id502#502 (first step)
or a mpeg editor like videoredo.
