Hello,
how can I get mpeg2 .avi files (decrypted from dvd) to be played in mediaplayer 6.4 under Windows 98?
I get an 'unsupported' message.
btw: installing a software dvd player like winDVD or PowerDVD didn't work; it won't install the right codec for the format.![]()
It is successful under Windows XP but when I try to encode with TMPGenc, the programs crashes after some minutes.

have you tried any of the codecs under tools here on the site?

no, I didn't
I will try it out
I saw a mpeg2 codec for MS media, maybe that will help me further
thanx! -
I can read mpeg2 files now and encode without problems.
Seems like the versions below 3.0 of PowerDVD have XP incompatible .ax files which causes the stream to crash frequently.
with powerdvd 4.0 it is solved.
