  1. I am using Windows Media Player

I donwloaded a DivX program lasst week that supposedly installed some DivX 'codec's to my Windows Media Player. It has played oither DivX encoded movie and movie clips fine, bu with this one i ONLy get SOUND

    Any ideas?

    when I click properties

It is listed as : --
    Type: Video Clip
MS DOS NAME ******divx.avi (where *** is the actual title)

Everyt time I try play it, it also connects to a "codec" server and attempts to get a "codec request"

    Cheers!

Well.. you either do not have the proper codec or the movie is FAKE!
Try this link to this site http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcdtools.htm#codecs and try downloading the kristal or nimo codecs. Or just install both of em! If this doesn't work then like I said the movie is a FAKE. If you downloaded it from a program, some people actually have the file as just a blank A/V or they rename it something crazy liek a .tmf file, which I have come across.
What the Fuc is the internet?

  3. Thanks for the tip!

I am going to try it now

I would say it is definitely a real file. It plays the correct soundtrack for the audio, but no picture

I had this prolem with "DivX" movies before (sound but no video) and the "codecs" I installed solved it ok

But I will give this a go.

    Thanks again
