Hi there. My PC does not have firewire, so by way of getting round this I have been connecting my Maxtor (external drive) to the PC and the Camcorder to the Maxtor. In the past this has worked without a hitch (using PC at home). I need to do the same at work but for some reason my PC will not recognise that I am running a Camcorder so that I can run footage on Premier - there is no evidence that the Camcorder is connected up. What am i doing wrong? Any advice would be VERY welcome!

I'm not familiar with what you are doing, but you will most likely need to provide more information. Such as what type of Maxtor drive? how is the camcorder connected to the drive? what OS and version are used at home and at work?
