  1. I've got a silly problem that I'm hoping someone can explain or fix for me. I converted a capture from AVI to MPG2 in TMPGE. Upon completion the file size (in Windows explorer) is just over 3 GB. WHen I try to create a project in DVDit PE with it, it states that my project size is 4 GB ??? As well if I change the audio settings from PCM to AC3 and then select "update" next to project size window the size does not change. Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks

  2. Try de-muxing the audio and video into seperate files and putting them into DVDit PE that way. I think it will then be able to calculate the size of the audio mor accuratley.

Thanks for your help bugster. I de-muxed the mpg2 with TMPGE and was able to inport the video it into DVDit PE with no problems, but when I tried to import the audio clip it gave a error saying that there was no decoder installed on the system? It seems strange the DVDit can import MPG2 video but not its audio? Any suggestions? Thanks

  4. demux the audio with vurtualdub from the avi. Save as PCM (uncompressed) at 48Khz sample rate. Then imprt this wav file into DVDit PE. Dont forget to select convert to Dolby AC3 if your video file is over 3 Gigs as a PCM file is large and may not fit otherwise

It worked! Thanks for all your help Bugster. Not only does it give an accurate reading of the project size in DVDit but it has drastically cut down on the processing time DVDit required to process the project for burning!

  6. That update bug is a known problem with DVDit when you use AC3 sound files. They claim to have fixed it in the latest patch, but my version of DVDit PE is working just fine and dandy... if it ain't broke don't fix it, I figure.
