  1. All,

I was shopping in a store here in Japan, and ran across an AVL ADP2700XM XVID/DIVX player, cheaply priced at $55 with a USB port as well. I tried finding information on this player on the Internet, but could find absolutely nothing. Does anyone own or otherwise have any knowledge of who makes this player and perhaps any user reviews?

    Thanks in advance,

I just picked up one of these DVD players for 55 Dollars. This is what I've noted after playing with it for a few moments:
    • It plays both region 1 (one) and region 2 (two) out of the box - I don't have any DVD's from other regions to test.

This device also has a card reader and USB port on the front - Doccumentation is very sparse, implying that the USB port is for interconnecting other media devices.

      NTSC and PAL output

It also supports 5.1 surround sound.

      progressive scan...

    Not bad for 55 bucks!

  4. I think this DVD player (and all this companies stuff) is sold exclusively through AAFES. I bought the same DVD player today.

I'm curious if it has a built in converter (PAL to NTSC). I have a small multi-system TV currently, but I'd like to be able to watch some PAL discs on my HDTV back home. Anybody able to test this player out to see if it will convert a PAL DVD to an NTSC signal?
