I'm confused with my new X1300 Pro. There is a 7 pin S-Video connection and the owners guide references and shows a picture of a cable that plugs into the S-Video port and breaks out to the three component RCA plugs. But I can't find a part number anywhere to order it. There is this http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2550138 but is does not specifically say for the X1300. Then again there's always a DVI-TO-HDTV Adapter http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2537967 but I am using the DVI port for my LCD ultrasharp monitor. Will I loose quality if I just hook my LCD to the VGA port?
I need to hook up my HDTV as a second monitor for gaming. One other challenge is that its across the room from the PC. I'll need a cable about 30 feet by the time I go under the floor and across the room.
Which port should use for my HDTV and which for the LCD? Should I use a 30 foot s-video cable then convert to component level behind the TV? Or should I convert to component level behind the computer and then run 30 feet of component cable under the floor?
