My DVD player, out of all pc formats, only plays DivX files. I got a bunch of videos, but only some of them are playable on the DVD player... How do I convert the other ones into DivX.
I know there are many converters that do this, but how do I find out what format those other videos use and which programs are best for each case...

    Thanx in advance...

Try loading the files into Gspot, that will tell you which codec has been used. When you have done that have a gander at the conversion guides.

You can use Dr. DivX to convert the non-compliant files to compliant DivX files for your player.
If you are going to use anything else, check the compliant files with MPEG4 Modifier to see what is OK for your player. Check the first file you reencode with MPEG4 Modifier to make sure your settings are OK, before proceeding with the rest.

Antibug: Which DVD player are you using?

I don't know about Dr. Divx, but there's also AVI Recomp, for recompressing AVI files to work better on standalone players.
