    I am trying to render a dv, older tape into a widescreen offering. I am getting the distinct indication that stuff in, same stuff out. If I have captured the video in 720x480, any attempt to say, render to widescreen, 16x9, it will distort the final output? I have tried and it cuts off the top and bottom and leaves the side bars. Is there any other way to convert a conventional picture over to widescreen?

    Have you

    Set you project to 16:9 ?
    Set your clip to 16:9 ?
    Rendered using a widescreen template ?
    Used Even Pan and Crop to crop and resize your image to widescreen (anamorphic) format ?
