  2. I'm with you on that my friend, I have a Toshiba SD-3750 and a Pioneer A03. I follow the guides but the 3750 still says there is a disk error. If you hear of anything let me know. Thanks!!

  3. In a recent Crutchfield catalog they had a chart of all their DVD Players which indiciated which ones were DVD-R compatible. There were surprisingly few, so I emailed them saying that I thought that practically all players (especially new ones) could play DVD-R's. The response was that in theory yes but that because of the lower reflectivity of DVD-R media compared to commercial DVD's many can't. So, this seems to be the same situation as players from just a few years ago that were VCD compatible but could only play the commercial ones because they couldn't recognize CD-R's. So although probably all players in another year or two will have been updated to recognize DVD-R media, for right now you probably can only be certain if you get one that is stated to be specifically compatible.

  4. I had the same problem as well, here is how I fixed it. It doesn't matter what authoring software you use, it's the burning software that matters. I was getting disc errors on Toshiba 6200, 2150 and Panasonic A300, A310 and others. I was using Nero 5.5.6.4 and Prassi Primo 2 to burn with no luck. I then tried VOB Instant CD+DVD and now that DVD works on all settop players. Beware, you can download a trial of Instant CD+DVD but you will need a registered version of 6.20 from December 2001 in order for these disks to work. Give this a try and let me know.
