  2. you need to give more info.
like did you encode the file yourself?
because more than likely if you did you have converted a movie from NTSC to PAL. doing that would result in choppy video.

  4. ok i just checked something out. when i went to settings it says its at 15fps (internally 30fps)now when i encoded it i had it at just 30fps. could it somehow set it at 15 and that made it choppy?

  5. all of the templates that come with tmpgenc are either for 24 25 or 30 fps.. so if you used a template you shouldnt have been an issue using 15 fps option

how many fps is your source? if its not 30 fps then converting to 30 would tend to make it choppy (if it wasnt already)

  7. i noticed too that when i open a lot of my avi's some of them are 29.97fps in the settings box and some are at 30fps. when i opened the choppy one it said 15fps will it mess it up if i just set the framerate to 30 on settings?

Just so you know, for an MPG to be valid for VCD, the total of audio bitrate + video bitrate MUST be 1374kbps. I know my DVD player stutters on anything < 1374 >, so maybe its worth noting that 1150+192 is NOT 1374. Try bumping the audio up to 224kbps.

As for your 15fps vs. 30/29.97fps... Only way to know for sure is to try it. Encode a 30 second bit and burn that (preferably to a CDRW and see how it plays.

  9. so since the birate is not 1374kbps the audio might be lagging causing the choppiness? and setting the aduio to 224kbps might fix this?
