I needed to tweak dvd audio, so I demuxed with Vobedit (demuxing All video and All audio), tweaked the audio, then tried to remux in Muxman. The subtitles were not within the demux video, so I went back to the dvd and demuxed "All substreams," took that file and tried to remux with the audio and video. The subtitles are overlapping red/blue instead of solid legible white. They seem to be in the right place and synched. What did I do wrong, and how do I correct?

  2. Hi-

You didn't do anything wrong. To correct, open the DVD in PGCEdit, double-click the video in the left screen, in the new window you'll see the CLUT (Color LookUp Table) with a bunch of colors, including the 2 colors of your subs which you'll change to whatever you like, OK your way out of there, Save and test.

thanks, I'll give it a shot. But why won't Muxman just remux the original subs? And is there another remux program that works as well as Muxman but will do subs correctly? I'm using the free version (Muxman 15) - there seems to be a payware version; is this a limitation that the payware corrects?

  4. It's not a Muxman problem. Muxman is doing nothing wrong. Once you see how easy it is to fix the colors, you won't care that they're the wrong color when muxed. Plus, you'll be able to choose any colors you want. Those colors are the original colors of the BMPs that make up the subs.

is this a limitation that the payware corrects?

You'll get the same thing with the payware version, or authoring with IFOEdit. You can also fix the colors in IFOEdit (a bit hard) or in DVDSubEdit (pretty easy).

If there's an original DVD with the correct colors, after you complete the remux with the wrong colors, open the original DVD in VobBlanker, and use the Replace button to replace the old DVD with the new Muxman one. That way you'll get your colors back.
