  1. I have installed Nero 5.5 but it can't recognize my drive. Just shows an image drive. I have HP Cd-writer cd16. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. Sounds a bit strange, but I would recommand you email Ahead, if anyone can help, it's them, and they are very nice and friendly tech support.

  4. I've encountered the same problem when installing Nero. When I looked in Control Panel, Device Manager, both my CDROM and CD Writer had yellow ! marks against them. I used the manager to remove them from the system and then re-installed them. This got them back as fully functional devices and Nero was then able to find them both.

    Hope this helps.

  5. I have same problem with my HP CDRW 8200 (USB). No prob up to and including Nero 5.5.5.1 but 5.5.6.4. doesn't recognise my burner. Tried re-installing both burner and Nero to no effect. Ahead has been NO help. No major concern as 5.5.5.1 works fine (I can use the newer Cover Designer with the older exe.) but sure hope problem clears up with the next update. Bizzare.

I've had the exact same thing happen - the only usable device is the image drive and the CD drive was not allowed.

Ended up that I registered it incorrectly. There's certain registration codes that are used for each brand of burner. I entered in the correct one and everything has worked fine since.
