Is Videopack much different from WinOnCD3.8. Both of them are by the same company anyway? Which is better you think?

  2. VideoPack 4 is a specialised VCD authoring program while WinOnCD is a general CD burning program with some VCD authoring capabilities tacked on.

Depending on how complex you want to author your VCDs, VideoPack4 may be a better option.

In choosing your options - consider the cost

Video pack costs a fortune - WINONCD is around £38.00.

You can download bot apps too (for free), if you do a big search on the Net.

But my opion, I've tested both and for VCD's I'll keep prefering WinOnCD3.8PE.

Vitualis, did you realy already tried WinOnCD38 out?
I'll get the same results (nearly, WinOnCD is a bit more simplyfied) with both apps.

  6. well the thing is ... with videopack

if you get videopack by itself you run the risk that it might not be compatable with your Burner (and that happens often)

but it makes sum gooood menus

i think someone said there were drivers you could dl for your burner if you dont have one.

but if you cant find one (heres another prob) videopack saves vcd images as *.RAW and *.CPJ Which is like unused in most other burn programs EVEN CONVERSION programs like winmage cant save the file as sumthin else so it would be burnable.

the only other way to deal with that is (ahem) get winoncd.
only that stupid program can understand the *.CPJ format and convert that baby to a USABLE format for winmage. And then convert that baby to bin and burn.

thats from what i understand soo far about Winoncd and Videopack

they are good and verry bad at the same time, like women
    hope that helps
