  1. I'm sure I'm just being bumb, but in trying to create a VCD, here's my steps.

First I start with a decompressed MPG
    The using Nero 5.5
    I simply drag the MPG
    select burn.

The resulting CD will not play in my DVD player, a Samsung that says it will play VCD's.

I've also tried NTI 2000 Pro, and CLONE CD

    Please help with simple instructions...

It is not possible to have a "decompressed" mpeg. MPEG by nature is a a compression, to decompress it would be to render it back into AVI format.

Though it plays VCD, does it play CD-R and/or CD-RW?

Just because it plays VCD doesn't mean it will play homemade VCD's burnt onto CD-R or CD-RW?

  3. Make sure of two things: 1) that you have selected the VCD mode for Nero to burn in, instead of CDROM (which you've probably done) and 2) make sure that your player can read BURNT VCDs, instead of PRESSED ones. That happens sometimes.
