    Hi,

I am experiencing a two problem while playing a video file.As i seek it there is a delay of few seconds before the video commences again. The timer is dispalyed as usual but the frame freezes before it is played.

My second problem is that some videos are blotchy ehen i seek them but become normal after a few seconds of playback. Please advice.

    thanks

  2. What are you using to play the video files with?
I would recomment Media Player Classic as it is less bloated than WMP.

At the same time, have you got lots of other applications open at the same time: anti-virus, firewall etc? 256mb memory is not that much anymore considering how many applications are so bloated these days.

    Hope that this is helpful.

With what? There's bazillion different software players out there.

Not a problem. The program displayed the nearest keyframe while it buffers the next several frames before it can be shown to you. It's a price you pay for true random seek.

My second problem is that some videos are blotchy ehen i seek them but become normal after a few seconds of playback. Please advice.
Again, normal behavior. You seeked to a non-keyframe (i.e. incomplete frame) and the player did its best to show you the output.

Perhaps you need to study how MPEG and other similar compression techniques work, then you'll understand why random seek (i.e. jump tp a certain second) will produce strange video artifacts.
