I have 4 mpgs totaling 5.11gb which Id like to convert to 1 DVD. Can anyone set me on the correct track? These are 4 shows I pulled from my TiVO.

    Thank you,

you could try using dvd patcher & patching the resolution & bitrate to something dvd compatible.. author to dvd and see if your dvd player will play it.

You could also try authoring with DVD Lab Pro by turning down the compliance levels. As with the patching solution, no guaratee that it will play in all players.

Your other choice is to re-encode them to DVD spec (half-D1 is probably fine for this) and use a bitrate calculator to work out the bitrate.

    Run your mpgs thru svcd2dvd
Author to HDD with TMPGEnc DVD Author. It will complain about that the DVD files won't fit a DVD5, but go ahead anyway.
Shrink the DVD files down with DVDShrink.
    Burn.
    Done.

does the show have commercials in it? if so, you could trim them out and possibly get under 4.37gb.. then you wouldnt have to run it through dvdshrink..
