  2. While waiting for a reply I started playing around with the settings and no matter what I did Nero would error out with "stream encoding not compatible". I use the CL Digital VCR which captures to *.bts files and than I use it's own file converter to get the *.mpg file.

So now I need help with the settings and the above problem, they may be related though. Thanks!

  3. I have been doing test with this card, i had bought it because i want to record some of my analog tapes to SVCD.

With the video there is no problem, but you have to keep the bitrate low... the max for svcd is 2.6 (audio + video)
    i have set a bitrate of 1.5 Mbit/sec, resolution 480x480

The audio is the problem, SVCD only accept 44.1 Khz, you must convert the audio

    follow this steps:
    1.- demux with tmpeg
    2.- encode the audio to 44.1 Khz (i use 160 Kbit/sec)
    3.- remux with tmpeg

pd: i still do not understand why creative does not allow to capture the audio directly to 44.1 Khz, i hope the hardware can handle it

  4. I am thinking the pv 231/233 or 25x cards or the ads usb instant dvd device are the best out there for files to burn for dvd player use.
search for other posts for these cards before you buy.
