  1. ok...im not totaly up on the new DVD-R stuff...and i was wondering...if you had a short movie clip could you use a DVD authoring program and create a DVD but instead of burning to a DVD disk burn to a regular Cd-R? isnt the only thing special about DVD-R disk is that they can hold alot more video? I am most likely wrong but i was just curious.

    yes, what you want to do is possible. It's called Mini-DVD or CDVD.

    However, less than 1% of DVD players will play them.

    It's a firmware issue of the laser seeing a DVD file structure but the disk identifying it'self as CD-R

  3. Apart from finding a player that will actually even play a miniDVD, be aware that a CD-R disc has less than 1/10th of the capacity of a dual-layered DVD.
