Hello,
I have an AVI clip I am trying to encode in WMV9 format. CBR 500, deinterlace . The AVI is created with Vegas 5.0
Now the trouble I have is with Vegas or WM Video encoder is scene transitions. They always seem to blur or be fragmented (split second) before snapping into sharpness. How do I get one of these encoders to handle transitions as smoothly as an mpeg ?
Thanks in advance !!!

CBR 500 is an pretty low bit rate anyway (but the above is also true) perhaps if you used a higher bitrate it wouldn't be so noticable (I personally don't like to use a bit rate of less then 1500 - I have on occasion, but it's rare).......

when you convert to wmv it deinterlaces for the internet so don't deinterlace it first and see what happens....
the best overall settings i've found for a downloadable wmv are:
keyframes = 25
quality = 85
buffer = 25
from MS's site
