  1. I'm burning a SVCD with Ulead DVD MovieFactory so I can create some menus. I created a menu option with the caption "15:00" and had it set to go to 15:00 into the SVCD. When I preview it on my computer, it goes to 15:00 as it should, but when I actually play it on my DVD player, it goes to somewhere around 18:30. I heard this has something to do with the System Clock Reference, but I'm not sure what it is and what to do about it.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

  2. I have this same problem, but what's odd is some of the menu options goto their correct points of the movie and others don't. I have been trying to research the System Clock Reference issue you mentioned, but can't find anything.

  3. Some headway on the problem:

First off, the SCR (System Clock Reference) for the SVCD MPEGs I've been burning is 2400. This means that every 1 second of playing time on my computer is 1.25 seconds of playing time on my DVD player. I'm not sure why this is, but possibly it has something to do with my MPEG decoder (maybe a version thing like DivX 3.x or 4.x).

Anyways, what I'm doing now is creating SVCD menu items that take this into consideration. I set one up on my computer to go to 8:00 (which is 10:00 on the DVD player). Of course, the menu item image is taken at 8:00 into the movie, so I simply change it by finding the 10 minute frame for an NTSC SVCD and using it (600 seconds * 29.97 = 17,982). This works, but I'd like to find a way to fix it, if possible.

Another thing. For some reason, I can't use the "Go to time" option on my DVD player with these 2400 SCR MPEGs.
