It seems everytime I use dvd shrink to backup video files, somewhere in the middle of the process I get a generic blue screen on my computer that says physical dump,and I have to shut my computer down.Why is it doing this???

Computer problem seems likely. Unless it is only happening on one Movie then it would be the movie itself.
Could be bad memory, CPU overheating, Spyware/Virus infestation. Easy to test overheating theory. Pull the side and look at the CPU heatsink, is it clean or clogged. Try shrink with the side off and a fan blowing in. -
also, if you overclock your cpu or RAM, set defaults in BIOS, try shrink again. things that might help from link below have helped me at times
