First let me say DVD's played fine on my brothers AMD based XP2000 b4 I installed this hardware/software combo.

After installing a Diamond XtremeTV PVR550 card and BeyondTV software, not only does live TV play jerky/studder, but now ALL mpeg2 plays that way - inc. DVD's and DVD's copied to the HD.

My guess is this software replaced his Mpeg2 codec with another that just doesn't work on his system.

I've tried un-installing both the card and the software, but I still continue to have the same problem. I even went through his registry and deleted every instance I could find of BeyondTV, w/o sucess. Oddly, Windows Media Player 10 IS able to play DVD's and Mpeg2 files without a problem.

Diamonds web site basically has no support, so no help there.
    Any suggestions???

Try reinstalling your mpeg 2 codec. windows media player uses a third party codec.

    Thanks, but how, exactly?

I un-installed and re-installed WinDVD6, but that made no difference.
