Playback delays :(

Hey experts, I need help!

I watch movie in divx format, and those were burned successfully on nice Fuji discs. But..... a lot of them has play back errors.

There's no exact time of when it will occur, but it seems the CD rom will have problem reading the disc, and all frames and sound will stop, next, I'll hear CD rom reading like crazy. Next the movie will resume playing, and few seconds later, it will stuck again...... some of the cd will be okay after one or two read error, others will have this problem throughout the entire movie.

*The problem does not exist if I copy it to Hard drive and watch it there.

These problem occurs randomly, but not on every disc. Still, some movies play smoothly, and for those has read error, give me a rough time watching movie.

I have tested the error cd on both of my cd rom. result is the same.

sounds like a bad media issue

More than likely it is a bad drive, actually.

I had a DVD-ROM drive go bad in my home theater machine. Wasn't reading pressed discs correctly, but would still read my DVD-R discs. Then a few weeks later, it started skipping on a freshly burnt disc.

Threw out the DVD-ROM and threw in a brand new NEC burner. Now everything plays again!
