  1. I capture, edit and output all my MiniDV videa using Pinnacle Studio 7 with no problems.

    I just purchased a brand new Panasonic DVD/VIDEO CD/CD PLAYER (model DVD-RV31)

I am using Nero 5.5.6.4 Burning ROM

What I am doing is outputting my project as different MPEG formats and experimenting with Nero.

Every one that I output and burn to CD as either a SVCD or VCD is lousy when played in the DVD player. It is jumpy and pixelated at times. It also blacks out and sometimes audio is missing. I have read many of the tutorials on this site and am still confused.

I also have the following software installed: TMPGEnc 2.02 and also DVDTOAVI 1.82.

Thank you in advance for some advice.

  2. I had purchased one of those same players at Ultimate Electronics. Brought it home, and found it works okay for VCD white book, and reasonably well with XVCD. Forget SVCD, it had problems too many to mention.

I returned it, and went across the street to Circuit City, picked up an APEX AD-1500 for $79. Plays everything for me except Mini-DVD (which ones actually do anyways?)

    MP3-features of APEX Superior,
Features galore. Panasonic was okay, but Apex was outstanding.
