Hope this an appropriate question to ask, but, I am struggling to do something that should be easy!!!!!

I have just installed a Pioneer DVR-109 and am tring to use WinDVD 5 to play a DVD (original copy of Finding Nemo!). Howver, I do not get any sound out of it. Perversely, audio CDs seem to be OK.

    The OS is Windows XP.

    Any ideas?

Ensure that SPDIF is not enabled in the audio properties for WinDVD.

No, afraid not! The settings are:

Audio Output Configuration: Analogue Sound Card
    Audio Speaker Configuration: 2 channel
Advance Audio Setup: Remember volume setting, Enable 96 KHz/24 bit decoding
    Audio Renderer: Waveout

The TEST button is greyed out!

    Any help gratefully received!

I too have this problem. WinDVD 5 used to work prior to full Win XP reinstall. Tried PowerDVD (for comparison) first, which worked fine, but decided I liked WINDVD better. Uninstalled PowerDVD, reinstalled WinDVD, but now no audio. Audio works on everything else (and worked in PowerDVD). My settings are as in Rasinton's post. Can't work out what's missing. A codec or something?
