  1. I wish to know if anyone has ever gotten Nero to successfully burn a .bin .cue SVCD which has chapters. When I attempted it with the lastest version I was able to view the movie and all but not utilize the chapters. If I burnt it with cdrdao (TSCV) then chapters were just fine. Basically I think Nero is the same as DiscJuggler in this respect. Just choose ALL Files and burn the .bin file and it works fine minus the chapters. Please let me know if I'm way off base. No I don't want to hear about how you added the mpeg and let Nero do the authoring. I'm only asking about burning capabilities of Nero.

If you can do it with CDRDAO, why bothered with nero?

  3. thanks for the reply spud..that's wasn't what I was asking. Just for the record I only burn in cdrdao using either TSCV or VCDEAsy. I took Nero out of the DVD2SVCD Newbie FAQ because no one can verify that it burns chapters. I suppose I'll leave it out since it's crap for burning SVCDs.

  4. It was reported before (if you search the forum, you may find the link) and detailed how Nero incorrectly burns a CUE/BIN image of a VCD by an offset of 150 sectors. If this occured, all the sector addresses used in the PBC (which would be required for chapters) would be incorrect and thus no longer functional. Indeed, it could render the disc completely unplayable on some players.

For this reason, I strongly suggest burning with a proggy that understands the CUE/BIN format (e.g., CDRWin, CDRDAO or Fireburner).

I have a guide on burning CUE/BIN images using a number of proggies on my site here: http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd

Do you know if this has been checked with the latest version of Nero, 5.5.6.4 at the time of my writing this message? The PBC chapters work for me while they don't work for mybass... but if the chapters are off by 150 sectors, then I shouldn't have the ability to jump from chapter to chapter, should I?

FYI: My player, a Pioneer DV-C503, appears to require PBC for SVCD chapter support.

    Thanks!

No. This was checked a while ago, definitely on one of the older versions of Nero5.5. The bug continued for many versions afterwards but I don't know if this has been fixed for the latest versions.
