Tv ouptut help

When i used to play a movie on wmp10 it would automatically play full screen on a tv output, which i can minimize on my vga monitor and still use the pc eg, net surfing, assignments, etc while the movie played on the tv for my brother to watch.

For some reason now it doesnt work, the movie goes to the monitor full screen but when i minimize on the vga, the video on the tv freezes but the audio continues, the only way to get the video working again is to have the wmp window open.

I have a geforce 6610xl.

Can anyone help? here, it works if i use window media player classic, but for sum reason wmp doenst anymore, is there a setting i have changed? thanx for anyhelp

Most likely uninstalling mp classic would correct the issue, but if it works fine in classic, why not just play the movies from there?
