  1. Hi,

I just started with VCD Composer and it seems to be just what I need, but the Media Player included wont play mpeg files? (Neither will the Media Player in "normal" life.)So I can`t set Entry points.

    I use Win 98 SE.

Any Idea`s how to play mpegs with Media Player?

    Thanks Peer

If it's about MPEG-2 it's because there is no codec for those installed. You can try the Elecard one (www.elecard.com), which can be downloaded for free but shows a watermark during playback in MediaPlayer.
If You're using MPEG-1 it *should* work straight away ?!? (The only time this fails for me is when using some dat-files from a VCD).

Well, You can but it isn't as easy... You can type them in manually by first adding a new point and then click on the time in the listbox (i.e. You add a new point and then click on "0.0000" once). Now You can type in the time.
I just realised that You can't use "frame"-styled times, only the usual second-styled... Another bug to fix

Apart from the above, sorry no...

  3. Thanks for the help!

I looked arround in the "tool" section of this forum, there is a codec wich just works fine. (No watermark)

Thanks tough for the hint with the "frame" setting, I tried to put entrie points but I only get a error message. (parsing file C:\windows\temp\vcdcomposer.tmp failed)

Maybe it`s gone with the "frame setting" off.

This usually comes from an ID (sequence/segment/playlist/selection/endlist/...) is not according to XML ID-specs. The latest version of VCDComposer do check for this (and other similar stuff), so if there is a exclamation-mark anywhere in the tree to the left, there is something wrong with the VCD that will possibly cause an error... To be sure You can click the "Validate VCD" (a button with tw green errors, much like a reload icon) to get all errors marked in the tree. By selecting the item in the tree, the error(s) is listed below the tree...

If You still have problems, please feel free to mail me (pretzel@algonet.se), and attach the problem-file (i.e. the vcm-file You saved)...
