How to copy a DVD movie to a DVD burner?

I have much experience ripping DVDs to create VCDs, but have not been to this site in awhile.

Could somebody point in the right direction?

How do you copy a DVD movie and then burn it onto DVD media with a DVD burner?

Is there copy software? Do you rip the vob files and then copy to your DVD burner?
