    hy there,
i have few video files that dont play back becus....
.....at time of recording..i never managed to stop the rcording at the end...ie making it an uncompleted video file.

i have 2 video repairing programs..but they both seem usless

they are (1) divx avi asf wmv rm rmvb fixer 3.23 (im using the trialware)
    and (2)asf-avi-rm-repair v1.82

both seem useless to me/they both dont repair my video files.

the video files were created/compressed with windows media 9.

Please any help will be apreciated/if at worse..i can send u the video files ..and if u can repair it for me...that woiuld be great! (i dont mind paying).

  2. Have you tried opening the files in WIndows Movie Maker or Microsofts Media encoder (a free download).
If either of these can open the files then they may well be able re-save them as good files. Re-encoding may be necessary. I suggest these two programs as they are specifically designed to handle MS codecs.
There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary...

  6. I think the files are hosed.

Please describe exactly what happened. The recording was stopped somehow, or is it still going on?

Where was this file recovered from? I am assuming you did not give it that name.

i was recording a file called "catcdGGgfdcfdgvffafjfmrlvddfnfa.wmv "..and i had a power surge, the computer abrubtly went off (no i did not properly stop the recording/ie so it as if its not a complete download).

when i restarted the computer..i had the file "catcdGGgfdcfdgvffafjfmrlvddfnfa.wmv " saved but when its unplayable.

i know the file exists becus it 155 mb...but i cant somehow get it playing

    i hope i am making sence :P
sorry if im not(ask me how ill try to elaborate some more).

if u can help me..Please add me on Yahoo messanger -"erik_kayler"

  8. It doesn't really matter, but what is up with that filename?

Most likely a corrupt file, no hope. Few tools I know of for repair of WMV files. Perhaps save it for some future repair tool.

Highly recommend APC battery backups, this would have prevented your problem. Good to know now, huh?
