Hi ev'body!
I have a question concerning splitting an AVI.
I am using FMPEGX 0.0.9j, MacOSX 10.3.
I am trying to split my AVI (size before splitting: 2,4 GB) into 4 segments, so that these segments would fit on CDR 700 MB.
The problem: FFMPEX doesn't split the rest of the AVI file correctly: I end up with one file (the first quarter) which is 600 MB of size, and a second file which is 2,4 GB (just as the original file) and NOT 1,8 GB.
Why is that? Is the AVI too big to split it correctly? Is there a solution to this?
Thanks for any help!

Try splitting the AVI file in VirtualDub.
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

... I also tried DVision (Vs. 2.15), a GUI for mencoder, but I have exactly the same problem: two files, the second as big as the original file...
???? Is this maybe a mencoder thing?
???? Or maybe a problem for Mac OSX to handle / split AVI files of that size?
...just an idea...

...I updated, for a test, to ffmpegX 0.0.9L and the latest codecs, but no change...
