    Hi

I am using DVD Architect 2 to author my menus etc. This came with Vegas and hence I am a little unsure about some things with it. I have managed to get everything on my DVD as I like it other than the motion menus.

My problems is that my films are in 4:3 and the motion menus appear in 16:9. The aspect ratio is all wrong.

I have created an unmasked, unframed button and simply linked to my .m2v file which is a by product of tmpgenc. The m2v file is in 4:3.

Can anyone help me make these menus 4:3. This is also the same for my scene selection menu.

I need to use DVD architect as I have encoded the subtitles from the timecode info from the original DV source. This is ace and works great. Unfortunately things like Ulead DVD MF and TMPGenc DVD author won't work with subtitles. My next choice if I cannot get this to work is to have a look at DVD Workshop 2.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. Drren - do you have the current build v2.0b build 130? I think there were a few glitches w/ the above in the earlier builds. How did your menus get to be 16:9? Is there something in the project profile driving that? I haven't had that problem...also, did you check the sony forum? (go to sony.com, pull down shop / entertainment / multimedia software)...

    OK. Thanks for your pointers

I have fixed this. I downloaded 2.0b to start with as I was on 2.0a of DA. That did nothing.

However when I upgraded Vegas to 5.0d everything was suddenly fixed and the install wanted to have access to my .dar files. Very strange.

I have now authored this properly and it looks ace. I am amazed at the stability of these two sony products and DA looks to be a good competitor to DWS 2.

    Thanks

  4. Out of interest, you say that you are using Vegas to edit your DV footage. Are you using this to complete the encoding to MPEG2 format or do you still run this through a program like TMPGenc?

    Hi

I read in my DV tapes using WinDV
I do some scene cutting and joining in VirtualDUB
I add transitions and split my video, audio in Vegas
    I re-encode in TMPGEnc Express 3.0
I then author the whole thing in DVD Architect.

I also do some subtitle work etc. in between also.

    HTH
