NeroVision Express re-encoding my VCDs - how to stop it?

Hi there. Truth be told though, NVE isn't even getting this far since it comes up with an error when it wants to re-encode my already VCD2.0-compliant .mpg file (which is the Babylon 5 Gag reel for those who are interested). I do not wish NVE to re-encode the video/audio in the first place anyway but I can't find out how to deselect the option to not do this. I get as far as the final Burn command and all I get is this message :-

"Unable to prepare data for recording: Transcoding of videos failed (internal error 1004)."

Since NVE has already confirmed to me that this is a compliant VCD2.0 .mpg file, I can't understand why (by its own programming) that it wishes to re-encode it again. I wish to utilise the extra menu and chapter creation facilities in NeroVision Express rather than having the non-chapter capable authoring facility in the regular Nero Burning ROM program. I haven't tried VCD Easy to get my desired chapter points, but if all else fails I'm afraid that I'll have to stick with my regular NBR program just to get this .mpg into a compatible VCD for my DVD player.

Check for the option "Smart rendering" or "Smart encoding" and enable it.

I'd try VCDEasy. It is reported to be the beez kneez of VCD authoring from a lot of people here.
