  1. Hello,
Yes I just got the Pioneer DVR-A03 DVD-R drive but for some reason when i put in the DVD-R blank disk it won't read it or allow me to write to it. It allows all the other disks to to be read though can someone please help me. I'm using windows 200 pro. Thanks

  2. Are you sure it's a 4.7 GB DVD-R "For General"? The Pioneer won't accept the older, mastering DVD-R media.

  3. It's the one they shipped with the drive as far as I know it is the right one.

  4. I assume it's the right kind of disc if it's a sample they shipped with the drive! It's just that there's a lot of confusion about DVD-R media right now because they've introdcued the new "For General" type, but older DVD-R discs don't say whether they're "For General" or "For Mastering". (If the disc doesn't say which type it is, it's probably a "For Mastering" type.)

What recording software are you using? As far as I know, most retailers are shipping just the bare drive, which can't record anything without additional software. (They assume the purchaser will want to choose his own software, rather than pay extra for a bundle.)
