  1. Recently got a Sony M1 that shoots MPEG4 videos. I installed the latest quicktime for its MPEG4 support. Although the video does start playing, but every time right before playing it will give me an error message saying that the file isn't not properly coded. Where can I find the correct MPEG4 codec that fully supports it?

XviD, DivX, ffdshow and 3ivX all have ASP MPEG4 decoders. 3ivX do windows and mac quicktime decoders. DivX I think do a mac quicktime decoder.

Quicktime's mp4 support is not very good though and even with 3ivX installer you still have to rely on apple's mp4 splitter/parser which is basically SP only so I would suggest using something other than quicktime.

3ivX installs a dshow mp4/mov splitter, moonlight also have one and then of course there is Nero. Also players like mplayer, VLC osmo4, mpeg4ip, etc. that have built in mp4 support.
