  1. Washing machine wins...FU@& ME!! My gf mom washed her clothes yesterday and my gf phone was in it. THIS REALLY SUCKS...it would be her 3rd time buying a new phone in the last year because of bad luck...I have done it twice, but I just LOST mine. We got money sent from home to get xmas presents, we planned on a little shopping on the weekend but I think that's going towards a new phone. Not somethine either of us wanted to spend money on...

Anyway, I know most cell companies can detect whether the phone was damaged by water or not. I was wondering, is there any way to dry the phone so that it DOESN'T look as though it were damaged by water? Just a question Not planning on fooling any big coporate company that makes millions Just wondering...I don't wanna open it up until I know it could be dried. Otherwise I'm gonna ship it off to Canada so my buddies can have something (Broken) to show off.

Run it over with your car. Then pick up all the little pieces and put them in a baggie and tell them you dropped it and that's what happened.

My daughter, or her husband, ran his Samsung flip phone through the cycle, whined to me, I told them to let it dry, it works except for 1 button, which he can do without.

    Just let it dry out.

JFMI, how in the hell can you forget to take a phone off your belt, or out of your pocket?

    Cheers,

    George

  4. Phones are getting smaller and lighter every year. It's now quite easy to forget it, especially if you carry it in your pocket all the time.

My wife washed my son's phone a few days ago. It worked fine after a recharge but the screen didn't display. I took the phone apart, cleaned the contacts and it works like a new one...and it's Tide Clean

You need to check into some better insurance. Bite the bullet and pay a bit more if you intend to keep killing phones. Oh yeah, it helps if you don't pick out the fanciest tiny POS there is. A plain and simple phone will do for communication, be cheaper to buy and insure.

    Just for laughs:
Another foreman with my company fumbled his cell phone from hand to hand and off a couple of walls inside the Port a Potty. You guessed, it hit the shit. He says **** it, it's gone for good. The honey dipper (guy that cleans out the portapot) recovers the phone and turns it over to the foreman who had already ordered a new phone. Not knowing the proceedure for what to do, the foreman sends the phone to the office. The receptionist doesn't know what to do with it either being it had been reported as lost and a claim for a new one had gone thru. So she just leaves it sitting on the corner of her desk where the driver had set it. Now nobody at the office knows that the phone had soaked in shit for a couple of days. Everybody that comes by, has to pick it up and play with it. Nobody really cared about that phone, until one day it was discovered that it was gone. Now the big investigation starts. Where is it? Why wasn't it put away? Who saw it? Who touched it? Who is the theif? So the forman and I show up at the office to do paperwork or something and all this comotion is going on. The other foreman was embarrassed as hell to have to explain the time the phone spent in the tank. And all of the office workers where wiping their hands and turning green. We can't help but to laugh when we think of some lowlife with that phone pressed against the side of their head.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

Mother-in-law is old. She just threw in a load and didn't notice. As far as insurance goes, the only insurance is whatever comes with the phone. Japan is very different with cell phones...it's crazy. Anyway, this is a link to the phone that got soaked. I'm in the middle of trying to take it apart and clean it.

  14. I also recommend that you use the "delicate" cycle and color-fast bleach.
