problem backing up dvd

Hello everyone!

wondering if you guys/gals could help me out. I am trying to back up a dvd but my dvd drive isnt seeing the dvd in the drive. its a gnomon workshop dvd. thanks for any help!!

I have tried dvd decrypter and Super DVD Ripper and they dont work.

What kind of drive are you using to rip the dvd with? Is it a dvd-r, +r, ram? I had problems reading dvd-r discs with my Lite-On dvd-rom drive. According to a lot of posts here, some older dvd-rom drives have trouble reading dvd-r discs burned with other dvd drives and set top dvd recorders.

In any event, my first suggestion would be to identify your dvd drive and see if there is a firmware flash or update. One caveat, I am assuming that your trying to rip with a dvd-rom drive and not a dvd-writer drive. I wouldn't flash the firmware of a dvd writer drive if all else is working fine.
