This is not warez. This is just a question. Lock it if it's out of line, but I don't think it is. "YES" or "NO" will suffice.

Why am I asking? .... I had a friend bring me a CD today with a WMV file on it. Said he wanted me to convert it to DVD. Normally easy. Not this time. Seems it has DRM, so I gave him back the CD, said thanks for coming. I don't even know what the video was. Never got that far. It was some kind of watch-once video he bought, but didn't know it until it was too late. He said he had to go take a bathroom break, and it wouldn't pause for him .. figured he'd watch it later and restart. He was wrong.

I don't what these companies are thinking. You'd think these things would at least give you the chance to go take a leak.

Not that I know of. You know smurf...these industries never learn. Circuit City had the Divx thing years ago and it failed miserably. This is just a recycled concept. The majority of the public do not want restrictions. I would like to give both quack valenti(vcr's are like the boston strangler) and that cary sue em all(a knuckle sandwich)

  5. That was a funny story. I think all future content protection schemes will be hard to crack, including Microsoft DRM. They really learned their lessons from CSS, which was really a joke, but lucky for us. If CSS had been successful, I wouldn't imagine we could've been where we are right now......

  6. i dont think it has. that sucks ass. this gets me thinking though....suppose you burn this file to a CD rom before you watch it, and try to watch it from the CD. What would it do? Would it choke? It has to write something to itself in order to disable it self from being run again.

you're a dimebag fan too, eh smurf? i dig the new rockin smurf you've got there.
