  1. Hey

I have a TSCV & VCDEasy problem (same problem) that I have asked what seems like hundreds of people how to solve, with no success. I am hoping someone will know what the problem is and corrective action would be. Let me elaborate on what I am doing.

I am taking a commercial dvd and ripping the audio and video with SmartRipper to vob format. I am in turn loading the vobs in DVD2AVI and encoding to a .d2v format. I then encode the .d2v file with TMPG to an mpeg2 which is supposed svcd complaint. Anyway, this brings me to TSCV & VCDEasy where I am packing the mpg into bin&cue format with chapter intervals of 4 min and sometimes importing the ifo files from SmartRipper for actual chapters on the dvd. I am experiencing an error that is pasted below that makes the SVCDs not work at all in a standalone (APEX). I have also tried selecting “Relax the ASP restraints”, which someone suggested, without success so I am at a loss. I would appreciate anything anyone can do to help me out.

  2. You have to demux your mpeg file and mux again as a svcd with bbmpeg. Remember to uncheck "add SVCD scan offsets". Then when using TSCV or VCDeasy use "update mpeg-2 scan offsets" option.

  3. thanks for the advice, however, I cannot open bbmpeg for some reason. I had an older version that crashes when I go into settings and input/output files and Open PS. Once I click Open PS it crashes, no error. I downloaded the most current version and it does the same thing. Any ideas?

Seems you´re working with Windows XP.

    Try this:
    Start bbMPEG
    click LOAD, click CANCEL
then go on with START ENCODING - SETTINGS
    should work now ...

    regards
    mb1

On labdv you should find a XP-patch for bbMPEG the next days.

  5. I dont know how you knew to do that but it worked like a charm. thank you. I am going to try to do this demuxing and remuxing with bbmpeg now and I am crossing my fingers. Thanks for the help thus far.

  6. By the way, you can also try Demuxing with TMPGEnc and Remuxing with TSCV, in the Tools tab it has a Muxing which will create a fully compliant file.

  7. I have tried using TMPG to demux and bbmeg to remux and it worked with the first mpg. I am trying a second as I am typing and will try a third with muxing in TSCV. It would help to cut bbmpeg out of the pic and narrow it down to two progs. Thanks again for all the information!

  9. I tried the second file and it didn't help. I demuxed in TMPG and remuxed in both bbmpeg and TSCV. When I convert to bin&cue with TSCV I get the following error again. Any ideas?

  10. OK....I have another problem that is simliarly related. I have an svcd complaint mpeg that is 799MB. I demux with TMPG and only end up getting a 100 and something mb file. What is with that?
