  1. Hi,

I've got a samsung dvd-e232, which is supposedly meant to plat vcd's (well looking at the players guide on here), bu t I can't seem to get it to work. It plays SVCD ok, any idea if that's all it's capable of?

The player guide has one report where someone says they can't play them, but other ones say they can?

I'm using Nero 6 to cut them.

    Hello,

I checked the dvd player list on this website and it says it does vcd...

But there are two user views that are contradicting. One says it plays it the other says it doesn't...

Are you using standard vcd files or hybrid ones????

I use VCDEasy to make the VCD disk. This plays in the Samsung OK and displays "vcd" in the panel which shows disk type.

My problem is that SVCD (also made with VCDEasy) does not show as SVCD in the panel but as C VD . But it does play OK but I'm not sure I'm getting SVCD quality.

Does your player actually show "SVCD" when playing an SVCD disk ?

  5. superbantam,

Your dvdplayer can play VCD's according to samsung and therefore try with using different cd-r and cd-rw media.
